Jennifer Lopez skips autograph session after being asked about Diddy

Jennifer Lopez seems to be tired of all the talk about her ex, and I don't mean Ben Affleck.

J. Lo was leaving a book signing at AFI Fest 2024 when someone in the crowd asked her if she had “any comments about Diddy and the allegations,” according to US Mirror. The tabloid reported that the singer left immediately despite fans' pleas for her to stay.

Lopez and Sean “Diddy” Combs were together between 1999 and 2001. She had previously described their relationship as “tempestuous” and opened up about it in 2003 Mood that they broke up because of his cheating.

“I never caught him, but I just knew. He would say he was going to a club for a few hours and then never came back that night,” she said. “I was totally crying, crazy and completely freaked out, it really sent my whole life into a tailspin.”

What she hasn't done is publicly acknowledge the allegations against Diddy, who is currently in prison awaiting trial on broad sexual abuse charges.

Prosecutors believe the mogul threatened the women around him and forced them to take part in day-long orgies, often using the footage he recorded as blackmail. They also believe he subjected many of these women to physical, emotional and verbal abuse. Since his arrest, new allegations have been piling up – of rape, sexual assault, drug use and more.

The case against Diddy gained momentum in the spring after CNN released leaked security video that showed the rapper brutally beating his ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura. Since then, many of Diddy's other exes have spoken out against him, but not Lopez. Despite tabloids claiming the Cassie footage made her “disgusting,” J. Lo remained silent on the issue and stuck to it.

Which probably shouldn't be a surprise: Even in May, sources said that “Jen won't address the allegations or take the time to talk about them because it's not her story she wants to tell.” If an interviewer does brought up, she would “cross that path as soon as it happens, but she won't address it publicly and won't intentionally insert herself into that conversation.”
