Rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels and the Washington Commanders took control of Sunday afternoon's game after the Arizona Cardinals started strong with a Marvin Harrison Jr. touchdown just before the 10-minute mark in the first quarter.

The Commanders then pulled away and ultimately secured a decisive 42-14 victory by outscoring the Cardinals 25-7 in the second half.

QB Jayden Daniels has completed at least 85 percent of his passes in two straight games. He is the first quarterback in NFL history to play two consecutive games with a completion rate of at least 85 percent or better (at least 15 attempts in each game).

Both the Cardinals and Commanders are aiming to turn their franchises around after both teams posted a 4-13 record last season.

The difference? The Commanders selected reigning Heisman Trophy winner Daniels in the offseason.

Daniels impressed the nation on Sunday by throwing for 233 yards, completing 26 of 30 passes and securing a touchdown.

On the other end of the field, Murray managed 142 yards, completed 16 of 22 passes and threw a touchdown.

During his Heisman campaign with the LSU Tigers, Daniels averaged 318 yards per game, posted a 73 percent completion rate and threw 40 touchdowns.

His transition to the NFL has been smooth as he continues to show that he perhaps should have been the No. 1 pick in the 2024 draft.

Daniels has an 80 percent completion rate and begins the season with zero interceptions in four games.

Daniels will look to prove his excellence again on Sunday, October 6th against Christian McCaffrey and the San Francisco 49ers.
