Jason Kelce roasts Travis and reflects on “cursed” Eagles tailgate experience

Jason Kelce roasts Travis and reflects on “cursed” Eagles tailgate experience

When it comes to the Kelce brothers, there's never a dull moment. Jason continued his tailgating tour this weekend, visiting the Eagles and Buffalo Bills tailgating sites. Meanwhile, Travis was spotted spending quality time with his superstar girlfriend Taylor Swift in New York during the Kansas City Chiefs' bye week.

The Kelces talked about it all in the latest episode of New heights. The episode even featured a special guest – one well known in the world of sports podcasts – Pat McAfee. Here's what you missed…

Jason's tailgating tour continues

For the second week in a row, Jason made the rounds to various NFL parking lots. He celebrated with Chiefs Kingdom last week. This week he was spotted partying with Eagles and Bills fans.

Before the Birds' game against the Cleveland Browns, Kelce witnessed a lot at the Eagles' tailgate, including a commitment and, perhaps the most memorable event of the day, a cameraman fumbling his camera off the roof of a trailer.

“Somehow this guy with the camera climbed up there,” he said. “It was impressive that he was up there from the start. He didn't know there was a skylight there, kicked, broke right through the window in the roof. Luckily he's fine. He's fine. The camera fell down. I thought it was done. He quickly ran there, picked it up and started recording. Works perfectly.”

This was the second time Jason almost witnessed an injury at the Eagles tailgate. Before the Eagles' home opener against the Atlanta Falcons, he chest-bumped Philly superfan Rob Dunphy on the stage outside of Xfinity Live. Dunphy landed awkwardly but fortunately did not require surgery.

“I’m two-for-two on the Eagles tailgates,” Jason said. “My husband Dunphy almost tore his cruciate ligament last time. Luckily he's doing well – well, he doesn't need surgery. Now this. I don’t know, maybe I’m cursed.”

Jason also reunited with Bills Mafia where he did another bowling ball toss, this time wearing a Fred Flintstone shirt and a buffalo horn hat.

Travis and Taylor's farewell week celebrations

Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift were busy during the Chiefs' bye week. The couple was spotted in New York City with another iconic couple, Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds. It was the double date we were all waiting for.

But of course, Jason took the opportunity to tease his younger brother about his fashion choices, especially his “button-down with horses and people (expletive) on it.”

“What the hell kind of shirt was that?” asked Jason Travis, referring to his navy blue Jacquemus bowling shirt with several characters painted on the front.

“I have no idea,” Travis said. “I think it's just art. I think it's just people and then there's a horse… I didn't really look at the shirt that much when I got it. I just liked the colors and the patterns and stuff. It looks like a hand, looks like an index finger?”

It was definitely an interesting fashion choice from Travis.

But that wasn't the only time we saw the famous couple around town. Travis, an Ohio native, took Swift to watch his hometown Cleveland Guardians play the New York Yankees in Game 1 of the American League Championship Series.

“I’m here cheering on the Guardians because I’m a Cleveland kid and I want to see Cleveland win a (expletive) World Series,” Travis said. “Even though the Guardians couldn’t make it, it was still an exciting game and it was cool to see Yankee Stadium.”

Pat McAfee defends kicker

On last week's episode of New Heights, Jason revealed a hot version of kickers in the NFL.

“Kickers make 60-yard runs routine,” Jason said. “We have to limit those field goal posts. It's too easy to shoot field goals right now. We have to go to the rugby goal posts. Kickers shouldn't influence football games as much as they currently do. We have to make kickers significantly less valuable.”

Former NFL punter and kickoff specialist McAfee wasn't a fan of Jason's comments.

“You’re the greatest of all time, the greatest center of all time,” McAfee said. “One of the toughest people to ever play football and your CV obviously matches what he is on the football pitch. So you can say whatever you want.

“It's the people who never play football who decide to dunk on kickers and punters and things like that, where I think you have to relax. But, Jason, I think you should probably side with the kickers because I think it's good for the sport.”

Who knows, maybe we'll see Jason try to kick a field goal sometime on College GameDay.

BBLs and Travis' new game show

If you still can't get enough of Kelce each week, fans can watch Travis host the premiere of “Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity?” on Wednesday, October 16, on Prime Video. The show can be a learning experience for fans. It was certainly for Travis – he learned what a BBL was.

“Amazon actually sent us a few clips,” Jason said. “There's one where you learned what a BBL is… (I'm) a little nervous asking what it is.”

“The old Brazilian butt lift. “I know where to go if I lose my glutes,” Travis said jokingly. “Coach Reid notices those glutes are getting a little flabby. I’m going to get a BBL and lift these things.”

Now that he knows what a BBL is, is Jason a fan?

“I’m not going to lie, I’m not a fan of the BBLs,” Jason said. “Not a fan of the BBLs. It might look OK for a few years, but then the thing just starts to sag. It looks like you have a diaper on the back.”

Travis tried to defend her, but Jason wouldn't let him.

“Just do some glute bridges,” he added. “Of course you can build the car; You don’t need the synthetics.”
