Ja'Marr Chase's representatives celebrated his big night against the Baltimore Ravens Thursday Night Football.

Caitlin Aoki, the agent for the Cincinnati Bengals' star wide receiver, wrote in a post on X that Chase “always makes my job easier.”

He always makes my job easier, lmao

The 24-year-old scored eight of his first eleven targets for 168 yards and a touchdown in Baltimore.

Chase and the Bengals were unable to agree to a long-term contract extension before the start of the regular season.

The receiver sat out the entire training camp and showed up at Cincinnati's facilities without participating in practice while waiting for a possible extension.

ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reported that Chase and the Bengals were “close to reaching an agreement” before Week 1 of the regular season, but the team's offer did not match his desire to reset the market for wide receivers. According to Fowler, people “across the league” expected Cincinnati Chase to pay “somewhere between” the contracts received by CeeDee Lamb from the Dallas Cowboys and Justin Jefferson from the Minnesota Vikings.

In terms of average value, Jefferson and Lamb own the two highest contracts among all receivers, playing on deals worth $35 million and $34 million per year, respectively (via Spotrac).

Chase, the No. 5 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, still has a rookie deal that keeps him under contract through 2025, giving both sides another chance to reach an agreement this coming offseason.

After his 2024 campaign, however, Chase's argument is likely to grow. Entering Thursday's action, he had already recorded 55 catches for 717 yards and seven touchdowns.

With teammate Tee Higgins set to enter unrestricted free agency in 2025, the Bengals will likely work harder to sign Chase to a long-term deal so they don't risk losing several standout receivers.

After his standout performance against the Ravens, it should be easier for Chase's representative to negotiate a hefty extension for the wideout.
