Get the fryers going because I'm certainly excited to see a collaboration between Wendy's and SpongeBob SquarePants.

SpongeBob SquarePants, the popular Nickelodeon character, will turn 25 in 2024. To celebrate, Wendy's has recreated the most popular food in all of Bikini Bottom – the Krabby Patty. As if that wasn't enough, they even made a new Frosty to go with it.

Much of the iconic animated series takes place at the Krusty Krab, the fast food joint where SpongeBob works. Everyone who has watched the show has wondered what makes the restaurant's namesake dish so delicious. I mean, Plankton was always trying to steal the secret recipe for a reason, right?

Well, the secret is out. The Krabby Patty meal arrived at Wendy's on Tuesday. For $10.79, you can snag a Kollab Krabby Patty with American cheese, tomatoes, pickles, onions, and “top secret Shrimp Kollab” sauce on a toasted bun, a medium portion of fries, and a Pineapple Under The Sea Frosty. While seasonal Frostys are nothing new for Wendy's, this one features a “pineapple-mango-flavored puree swirl” on a vanilla Frosty base.

That all sounds unassailably delicious, right? When it comes to burgers, Wendy's isn't really lacking – it's hands down the best national burger chain. And while I've had my concerns with some of their Frostys, their biggest crime has always been that the original chocolate version is flawless. That's why I approached it with high expectations.

It turns out that the red-haired girl and the guy with the yellow sponge are a perfect match made in fast food heaven.

While the Krabby Patty Kollab Burger isn't the most sophisticated thing a burger joint has ever done, it's objectively delicious. Wendy's burgers are elite and don't need much else to shine. The addition of the secret sauce, which tastes a lot like typical burger sauce, made this one of the better fast food burgers I've had in a long time. It kind of tastes like Wendy made a Big Mac.

The Frosty wasn't quite as impressive. The pineapple-mango puree initially tasted painfully artificial – considering Wendy's failed to make the peppermint or strawberry flavors real, it's no surprise that they struggled with even more sophisticated flavors. But after a few bites, I liked the fruit flavor better, even though it tasted more like mango than pineapple. However, by this point the puree had already been used up and I mostly just ate a vanilla frosty.

Wendy's says the Krabby Patty meal is only available for a limited time, which is a shame – I would eat this burger any time if I could.

Now if anyone wants to make the Krusty Krab pizza…
