Hugh Grant was “completely blown away” with Travis Kelce at the Taylor Swift show.

Hugh Grant has talked about doing tequila shots with Taylor Swift's boyfriend Travis Kelce while he's at it Epoch tour show at Wembley Stadium this summer. You can watch the full video interview above.

In June, Swift's record-breaking live gig touched down in the UK for a series of performances across the country. In addition to a host of fans, Swift was spotted by a whole host of celebrities – including Hugh Grant.

After the show, Grant wrote on social media: “Dear Taylor, you have an incredible show, an amazing and (very) welcoming team and an excellent, if gigantic, friend. Many thanks from an aging London boy, his wife and an enthusiastic 8 year old.”

Talk about the experience in a new interview NMEGrant revealed his daughter is a big Swifite – so he put out “some feelers” to his team to get tickets. “To my amazement, (Swift and her team said, 'Come with me'.”

Grant went on to say that his daughter and her friend were “dancing away” during the show while he hung out with Swift's American football boyfriend Travis Kelce in a VIP area. “We did tequila shots. We were completely devastated,” he explained. “I really liked it.”

In response to Grant's first tweet on June 23 after the show, Swift wrote, “As a long-time Hugh Grant stan, this tweet is very important to my culture,” Grant said NME It was “extremely nice” to hear that Swift was a fan. “She and her team are very welcoming and it’s a great show.”

Read the rest of our chat with Grant below, where he reflects on covering Radiohead's “Creep” as part of his role in the new horror film Heretic – and explains why he’s just not that interested in music.

Hey Hugh, tell us about singing Radiohead's “Creep” in your new film Heretic?

Hugh Grant: “I'm not doing it very well. I think it's a very difficult song to sing. I did a little research on it and they kind of hate it. One of them sketched it out, they recorded it and never really bothered to add the proper text that they liked. Everyone went crazy for it and shouted for it at every Radiohead concert. Very difficult to sing. I haven’t cracked it.”

Was that the first time you actually heard it?

“I'm not cool at all, but even I heard 'Creep'.”

Did you end up going down a Radiohead rabbit hole?

“I don’t have that. I don't think my character Mr. Reed liked Radiohead. For me he was more of a Bach man. However, he prides himself on being good with the children. I think he was a pretty successful, trendy professor at a Midwestern university in the late '80s and early '90s, so he's good at making teen-friendly references like that, but in the privacy of his own room it's Bach and Beethoven . ”

Mr. Reed also mentions “The Air That I Breathe” by The Hollies, who famously sued Radiohead because “Creep” sounded so much like it…

“And then Lana Del Rey came up with her song 'Get Free' (which also appears in…). Heretic) and she was sued. However, I can’t see any similarities between the three songs.”

It's an interesting topic, isn't it? Have you done any further research?

“No, but it's interesting because you see it in movies too. When I was studying English at university, there was a whole debate about what was plagiarism, what was homage, and what was complete coincidence. I once tried to write a book. I was about halfway through a novel and thought it was pretty good. A year later I looked at it again and realized it was a rip-off of – I won't tell you which book – but I didn't even know I was doing it. So sometimes it’s a coincidence.”

You've said in previous interviews that you're not as interested in music as other people…

“I've been a freak all my life. When I was in school, every Thursday morning New Musical Express came out and every boy in the class had a copy. You wouldn't be anyone if you didn't. It was either this or Melody maker. You had to have it… and I never had it. Wasn't interested. However, I tried to generate interest. I went to a few concerts. I remember going to Soft Machine. I saw Emerson, Lake and Palmer. I attended an Elton John concert at Watford Football Ground. He was supported by Rod Stewart and Nazareth, so it must have been pretty early (in his career).

“Anyway, I couldn't concentrate because I was 20 Player's No. I smoked 6 cigarettes, the cheapest cigarettes you could get at the time. I just felt so sick. For some reason I never got into music. There's something wrong with me. I just don’t enjoy the experience.”

And yet you tweeted that you attended a Taylor Swift concert this summer?

“Well, that’s my thing. It's my daughter who is crazy about Taylor Swift. I'm a great father. I'm a great person. I put out my feelers and to my amazement they said “come with me” and I enjoyed it very much. She's gone crazy, my daughter. She brought a friend and they had fun and I met Taylor Swift's boyfriend Travis Kelce, an American football player. We were drinking tequila shots in the back of a hut like this in the middle of Wembley Stadium – and I think there were a lot of rappers there. I don’t know what it was, but we were all really into tequila.”

And Taylor replied to you: “As a long-time Hugh Grant stan, this tweet is very important to my culture.” That's nice, isn't it?

“It is very nice. She and her team are very welcoming – and it’s a brilliant show.”

It was also recently announced that Oasis were getting back together. As a king of '90s films, you've probably come across the Gallagher brothers?

“My 90s girlfriend Elizabeth Hurley was best friends with Patsy Kensit, who dated Liam Gallagher. So we ended up having some strange evenings. What a strange foursome.”
