How Dwyane Wade celebrated “Queen” Gabrielle Union's 52nd birthday before unveiling his Miami Heat statue

Dwyane Wade threw his wife Gabrielle Union a surprise 52nd birthday party at Miami hotspot Casadonna just hours before he was honored by the Miami Heat on Sunday.

“Even though the weekend was all about Dwyane, he still found a way to celebrate his queen,” an insider exclusively tells Page Six of Union, who turns 52 on October 29.

We're told Union was completely shocked when she saw 40 of her closest friends and family waiting to celebrate her at the restaurant's patio bar.

“Gabrielle was completely surprised when she walked in to find 40 friends and family ready to celebrate her just before her husband was about to experience one of the biggest moments of his life,” the source said, adding that the couple “the “laughed with friends the whole time.” the brunch.”

The group dined in a private room at the trendy eatery and Union was treated to a large birthday cake. We hear that all five of Wade's children were also in attendance for the festivities.

“Dwyane stayed as long as he could and then made his way to the arena,” the insider said.

Wade, 42, ran to the Kaseya Center, where his former NBA team unveiled an 8-foot statue of him to honor his stellar basketball career.

The former shooting guard spent the majority of his 16-year professional career playing for the Heat – winning three NBA championships and earning NBA All-Star honors 13 times. He is also the city's all-time leader in points, games played, assists, steals, shots made and shots made.

Union was at her husband's side during the honoring ceremony. She also accompanied Wade to the James Bond-themed party in his honor on the Friday evening before the unveiling.

We're told the invitation-only bash, titled “003 Statues are Forever,” was held at the Queen Miami Beach and featured culinary delights and cocktails by Don Julia 1942.

Wade and Union arrived in an Aston Martin DBX707 and the guest of honor wore a black and white FWRD tuxedo.

The “Cube” host made a toast by raising a glass of Armand De Brignac champagne after his performance to the “James Bond” theme song.

“This is the start of a 'Statues Are Forever' weekend. We will embark on something we have never experienced before. If you have a glass, raise it,” Wade told the crowd.

Wade's close friend and former teammate Udonis Haslem also offered a toast, calling him one of the “biggest, baddest legends.”

Performers for the evening included Trina, Dj Khaled, Ball Greezy, JT Money and Uncle Luke.
