How can the offensive continue its upward trend?

How can the offensive continue its upward trend?

Tommy Hinkle from Pennsylvania asks:

“Can Zamir White and Alexander Mattison reach the 100-yard mark together this week?”

This would be a good week for the Raiders to get their running game going.

The Carolina Panthers have given up the second-most rushing yards (399) to the opposing offense through their first two games and have scored three rushing touchdowns. However, the Raiders are focused on getting their rushing attack going, which has been their glaring flaw so far this season. Zamir White is averaging 3.1 yards per carry, while Alexander Mattison is averaging 2.2 rushing yards per carry.

“Being on the same page and understanding what we're trying to do on every play,” Dylan Parham said of what he thinks will help the offense. “You just have to take it play by play, put in the effort and be as physical as you can on every play you get the opportunity to be.”

Head coach Antonio Pierce has also spoken openly about the weaknesses of his team's running game and blamed himself and everyone involved for it.

“We've got to run the ball, it's got to be balanced,” Pierce said bluntly. “Right now, we're not balanced, and that's really tough on our offensive line. It's tough on our quarterback because guys are just chipping away. They're in three-point positions and just running around our guys. That's not how we want to play football, and that's not how we want it to look. So I think it's really critical that — I think first and foremost — when we're playing bad, we just have to stick with it, right? You see teams every time just keep going, keep going, keep going. And then the fourth quarter comes, and you get broken.”
