Coco Carrasquilla scored with an 83rd-minute overhead kick from near the penalty spot and the visiting Houston Dynamo extended their winning streak to five games with a 1-0 victory over Austin FC on Saturday.

From a corner kick late in the game, Dynamo's Erik Sviatchenko headed the ball gently towards the Austin FC goal and Carrasquilla did the rest with a reverse shot over his head for his third goal of the season.

It was Houston's first win in Austin in six games, and the Dynamos also set a club record for a season with their eighth away win this year.

Steve Clark stopped five shots for Dynamo (13-8-9, 48 points), who have a 3-0-2 record during their winning streak.

Austin (9-13-8, 35 points) lost to Houston for the first time in three games this season.

Brad Stuver saved three shots for Austin FC, which has won just one of five games since the MLS regular season resumed, leaving the club lurking near the playoff line in the Western Conference.

The Dynamo entered the day ranked seventh in the West, with the top nine teams in the conference making the playoffs. Austin was one spot below the playoff line before Saturday's game.

Austin FC were aggressive throughout the first half and early in the second half, collecting three yellow cards in the first 57 minutes.

Austin's leading scorer Jader Obrian had a chance to tie the game in front of goal in the 89th minute, but his shot was saved by Clark. Teammate Alex Ring had a shot from the front in the second minute of second-half stoppage time, but his effort went just over the bar.

Austin FC midfielder Sebastian Driussi returned from a one-match suspension for accumulated yellow cards and received another yellow card in the 33rd minute.
