JONESBORO, Ark. (KAIT) – The Arkansas State Medical Board has revoked a northeast Arkansas doctor's license after he was accused of having sexual contact and relations with a patient.

On Wednesday, October 16, the board issued an emergency order of suspension, charging Dr. David Diffine, of Jonesboro, for violations of the Medical Practices Act and board rules.

According to the order, Diffine “had sexual contact, sexual relations or a romantic relationship with a patient.”

On July 17, the board received a complaint that “Diffine had sexual contact with his employees, who are also his patients, and sexually harassed those individuals.”

According to the order, the complaint included surveillance camera video of the alleged sexual conduct and harassment.

“Specifically, the video shows, among other things, how Dr. Diffine engages in a sexual act with an employee while other employees are present and watching,” the order states. “The video also shows how Dr. Diffine walks around the clinic naked.”

In ordering the emergency suspension, the medical board noted that Diffine “poses an ongoing danger to the public in his continued practice of medicine.”

The board will hold a hearing on Dec. 6 to determine whether Diffine violated the Medical Practices Act as alleged. If this is the case, a motion could be made to revoke or suspend his license to practice law in the state of Arkansas.

Diffine's license lists his main office in Blytheville. Its website lists additional offices in Bono and Paragould.

This is the second time Diffine's license has been suspended.

In 2017, the state medical board temporarily revoked his license because he overprescribed his patients. The board later dismissed the charges because it found no evidence to support the allegations.
