WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAW) – Saturday is the last day of Daylight Saving Time for 2024 and sunset will be after 5 p.m. The next rain producer is on the way from Sunday and wet conditions are expected through Election Day on Tuesday. Much needed rain considering the entire state is suffering from drought. Due to this wet weather, sunshine will return by mid to late week. Temperatures will be seasonal.

A first alarm reminder to set your clocks back an hour before bedtime on Saturday night as we fall back on standard time, and it's also a good idea to change the batteries in the smoke/CO detector. On Saturday evening it will be partly to mostly cloudy, with a chance of showers towards the morning. Lows in the lower 40s.

Sunday will be a rainy day for much of the region as a warm front slowly moves north across the state. Rain showers are expected to develop across central Wisconsin before dawn, with light to moderate rain at times on Sunday. The highest rainfall amounts through Sunday evening could come from Wausau to the south and east. A bit cooler, with highs on Sunday near 50. If you're going to the Packers game at Lambeau Field on Sunday, be sure to bring waterproofs and a few layers under your shell to stay warm. Temperatures will range from the upper 40s to the lower 50s, and along with the rain there will be some strong southeasterly winds.

Rain showers will continue on Sunday night and Monday. As the warm front moves north on Monday, it will be a milder day as highs reach the upper 50s to lower 60s. A wave of low pressure will move northeast along the cold front on Election Day-Tuesday, with rain expected in the morning, tapering off to showers later in the afternoon. Morning highs on Tuesday will be in the low to mid 50s, falling back into the 40s in the afternoon. Rainfall totals Sunday through Tuesday evening could range from half an inch in the far north to about two inches in south-central Wisconsin locations.

The second half of the work/school week will see quite a bit of sunshine with highs in the upper 40s to lower 50s. There is a chance of showers next Saturday with high temperatures in the upper 40s to lower 50s.
