Georgia fans angry at Mike Bobo and Carson Beck after turnover-heavy first half against Florida

Georgia fans angry at Mike Bobo and Carson Beck after turnover-heavy first half against Florida

Georgia's offense didn't have a good first half against rival Florida on Saturday afternoon.

The Bulldogs trailed 13-6 at halftime in Jacksonville, due in part to a poor offensive performance. Georgia averaged 5.9 yards per play before halftime, but the Bulldogs couldn't generate much momentum.

Carson Beck had one of his worst halves of the season, throwing two interceptions that led directly to all ten of Florida's first half points. He completed just 13 of 25 passes for 167 yards and those two picks. A potential third interception fell through the arms of a Florida player in the final minute of the first half.

In addition to Beck, offensive coordinator Mike Bobo was also targeted by Georgia fans in the first half. Bobo's offense had a passing rate of over 50% in the first half. The running game was largely inefficient, averaging just 3.6 yards per game, but the number of rushing attempts was still relatively low for a typical Georgia game. Star running back Trevor Etienne and true freshman Nate Frazier each had seven runs before halftime.

Another big problem for the Bulldogs in the first half was third down. Even when UGA was able to move the ball a little, the score was only 2-6 on third down before halftime.

There is a lot at stake for Georgia in this game. In addition to playing a rival, the Bulldogs can't afford to suffer a second SEC loss before next week's game against Ole Miss.

Here are some reactions to Georgia's offensive woes in the first half:
