ESPN's “College GameDay” is coming to Berkeley, California, for the first time since the broadcast began reaching college campuses in 1993. The show will be broadcast live from UC Berkeley's Memorial Glade on October 5th.

The Bears face No. 7 Miami later this evening at Memorial Stadium at 7:30 p.m.

The popular show stars football personalities Rece Davis, Lee Corso, Desmond Howard, Pat McAfee, Kirk Herbstreit and Nick Saban. “College GameDay” is known for its final segment, where analysts make their predictions for the college football slate of games that day.

The “Calgorithm” – a large portion of Cal's social media following – had created a major movement on the social platform X to get the attention of ESPN producers. The move appears to have worked as ESPN has picked Berkeley as its next destination.

“We are thrilled that ESPN College GameDay will be held on the Berkeley campus this week,” UC Berkeley Chancellor Rich Lyons told Cal Athletics. “A college football Saturday brings our community together, and we're excited about the wonderful opportunity that ESPN's 'College GameDay' provides to show what Berkeley is all about.”

Cal has already appeared as an away opponent on “College GameDay” three times, but the program has never been broadcast from the home of the blue and gold.
