Donald Trump's shock comedian Tony Hinchcliffe planned to call Kamala Harris the C-word

Donald Trump's campaign team was already aware of offensive remarks in comedian Tony Hinchcliffe's speech at the rally and even censored a “joke” as being too extreme, a new report says.

“He had a joke where he called Harris a 'c—,'” a campaign insider involved in Sunday's rally at Madison Square Garden told The Bulwark. “Let’s say it was a red flag.”

Four Trump campaign sources told the publication that staffers asked speakers to submit speech drafts before the event. While reviewing Hinchcliffe's draft, the problematic remark was discovered and the comedian was asked to remove it from his script.

The report comes after Elon Musk's super PAC released (and quickly deleted) an ad repeatedly calling Kamala Harris “the C-word,” later clarifying that it referred to her as a “communist.”

However, campaign insiders who spoke to The Bulwark claimed they had not noticed the numerous other controversial jokes in Hinchcliffe's speech and claimed the remarks, including calling Puerto Rico a “floating island of garbage” and racist comments about black people, were advertising – libbed.

However, they disagreed over whether or not Hinchcliffe's double-entendre about the way Hispanics “come into the country” involving unprotected sex was pre-approved.

Critics on both sides of the political aisle pounced on the comedian's 11-minute speech, prompting the former president's campaign to distance itself from Hinchcliffe and his Puerto Rico anecdote.

“This joke does not reflect the views of President Trump or the campaign,” said Danielle Alvarez, a senior adviser to Trump.

Hinchcliffe stood by his comment, replying: “These people have no sense of humour…” and criticized Tim Walz after he called the comedian a “bitch”.

“It's wild that a vice presidential candidate would take time out of his 'busy schedule' to analyze a joke taken out of context to make it appear racist,” Hinchcliffe continued. “I love Puerto Rico and vacation there. I made fun of everyone. . . Check out the whole set. I’m a comedian, Tim… maybe it’s time to change your tampon.”

Although the Trump campaign has tried to shield the former president from ongoing backlash, sources told The Bulwark that his team had no objection to the rest of the comedic repertoire, including jokes about stone-throwing Palestinians, Jewish people, their money want to keep and false claims that Haitians in Ohio eat cats and dogs.
