Donald Trump booed during the Steelers game, video shows

A video that appears to show Donald Trump being booed and heckled at Sunday's Pittsburgh Steelers game has gone viral on social media.

A seven-second clip shows a spectator looking at the box from which the Republican presidential candidate watched the game. Boos can be heard and one person says, “Get him out of town.” MeidasTouch, a media network that frequently criticizes Trump, posted the clip on Sunday on X, formerly Twitter. As of Monday morning, it had been viewed more than 292,000 times.

With the presidential election still two weeks away, Trump and his Democratic opponent, Vice President Kamala Harris, are racing to secure Pennsylvania's 19 electoral votes. In 2020, Allegheny County, which includes Pittsburgh, elected Joe Biden with 59 percent of the vote, while Trump received 39 percent.

Newsweek Trump's campaign emailed for comment.

On Sunday, Margo Martin, the Trump campaign's deputy communications director, posted on

The video shows Trump standing in a corporate box at the stadium and pumping his fist into the crowd as they chant “USA.” A few fans can be seen in the row of seats in front of the box recording it with their cell phones. Two supporters clench their fists back and a woman extends the middle finger to the former president. Martin's video had been viewed more than 607,700 times as of Monday morning.

MeidasTouch disputed the authenticity of Martin's post, saying the chants were in honor of a Navy SEAL.

“Steelers honor a Navy SEAL during the game. 'USA' chants ring out!” the network wrote in the caption of a separate video.

“MAGA is trying to claim that these 'USA' chants were for Trump. This is just more stolen valor from MAGA. We heard the Steelers didn’t show Trump on the Jumbotron once,” the caption continued.

Charlie Kirk, an influencer in the Make America Great Again movement, posted another clip of the “USA” chants in the stadium. In the caption, he wrote, “NBC will not show you actual footage of the Steelers game tonight.”

The video shows some fans in the rows of seats directly in front of Trump's box facing the former president during the chant. However, there are many more fans in front of the field.

Kirk's video had been viewed more than 2.9 million times as of Monday morning.

Before the game, Trump posted an image on Truth Social that appeared to have been created by AI. It showed the former president with an athletic, muscular build and a Steelers uniform.

After the game, which the Steelers won 37:15 against the New York Jets, Trump thanked the fans.

“Thank you Steelers fans for the great reception tonight,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “November 5th will be the most important day in the history of our country! MAGA2024!!!”
