Denver could see its first snow, 2 feet in the mountains

According to the National Weather Service, a snowstorm expected to hit the mountains on Tuesday will move into the metro on Wednesday morning, potentially showering Denver with its first snow of the season.

NWS forecasters said the snow falling in the Denver area this week is unlikely to last. Accumulation of less than an inch is expected.

“Light snow is possible along the Front Range and across the Plains Wednesday morning,” NWS meteorologists said in a hazardous weather forecast.

By the time the storm ends Wednesday evening, mountain passes and higher elevations in Colorado could see more than 2 feet of new snow, according to NWS forecasters.
