Deion Sanders praises Nick Saban and praises Miss Terry on ESPN College GameDay

Colorado trainer Deion Sanders joined ESPN College game day team on Saturday before a game against a ranked player Kansas State team, but before the crew could start talking much about football, Nick Saban had some good-natured banter to do.

Saban turned to his AFLAC campaigner colleague and asked Sanders a personal question.

“Deion, I have to ask you, how’s the fishing going?” Saban said with a wry grin. “Because the last time you and I went fishing, things didn’t go so well for you.”

Deion Sanders immediately started smiling ear to ear as he thought about his answer. The joke, of course, was in reference to an AFLAC commercial in which the two achieve completely different results while fishing.

“First of all, three things for you, coach,” Sanders said. “NO. 1, the fishing is not good. I don't fish here, I train here. No. 2, you stunted the whole set. They didn't even understand that. They asked you what car dealership you have: “Mercedes and Lamborghini.” That’s a trick. That’s how you do it, coach.

“And thirdly, I forgive you for last week, but my favorite, Miss Terryhad my back. I love you. I love you, Miss Terry! I love you!”

The reference?

When joining ESPN College game day As a guest selector, Miss Terry picked Colorado to beat two weeks ago UCF. Nick Saban picked UCF to win.

Deion Sanders' Colorado would win a stunning victory.

“And she went after me because I didn’t choose Colorado,” Saban said. “I want you to know that too.”

As for Colorado, the Buffaloes have been on the road since that big win over the Knights. They entered the bye week with a lot of confidence and will now look to turn this extra week of rest into a win over a ranked Kansas State squad.

Saban asked Deion Sanders for a key to the game for Colorado.

“We have to get going. We have to get involved,” said Sanders. “We couldn’t have missed any duels. Punish. Punish. This team isn't penalized much at all. We have to keep up with that. We have to keep up with that. We can't take the stupid, stupid penalties before the ball even breaks. We cannot tolerate such punishments. I understand if it's the flow of the game, but the pre-snap penalties are just ignorant and idiotic. We can't go out and beat ourselves. We have to make them beat us.”
