Dallas Cowboys vs. NY Giants Thursday Night Football opens Week 4 thread

The final weekend of September is here, which means it's Week 4 of the 2024 NFL season. The Seattle Seahawks enter the weekend alone at the top of the NFC West, two games ahead of all three division rivals, and are looking to knock the Los Angeles Rams and San Francisco 49ers off the top of the division for the first time since 2020.

The Dallas Cowboys travel to MetLife Stadium to take on the New York Giants on Thursday night. Both teams enter the game at 1-2 and will be looking to avoid falling behind the Philadelphia Eagles and Washington Commanders.

Despite the struggles early in the season, Dallas enters the game as a 5.5-point favorite over the Giants at FanDuel Sportsbook. Of course, the Cowboys' early season problems are minor compared to the Giants' early season problems, especially on the offensive side of the ball with Daniel Jones at quarterback. With Jones at the helm, New York has scored just 45 points so far this season, making it the 29th lowest-scoring team in the NFL.

The Giants' offensive struggles have led to early calls to use Drew Lock, which should sound familiar to Seahawks fans. If Jones faces similar pressure against the Cowboys as he did in the prime-time game against the Seattle Seahawks in Week 4 of the 2023 season, New York fans could be in for another long night.

Whoever quarterbacks New York, Dallas' defense could be the antidote the Giants' offense needs. Dallas enters the game with a loss of almost 30 points per contest and significant margins. Their offense may not have to be perfect to keep up with New York, and given how difficult the Giants have been putting up points, covering Dallas is the way to go. For the same reason – the Giants are unable to put points on the field – the underdog is likely to cash in.

Fans can watch the game on Prime Video at 8:15 ET/5:15 PT.
