SpongeBob fans aren't impressed with Wendy's new take on the Krabby Patty – with some calling the $14 meal a “cheat.”

To celebrate the 25th anniversary of the beloved animated film, the fast food restaurant has teamed up with Paramount to launch the highly anticipated Wendy's Krabby Patty Kollab.

On October 8th, the first SpongeBob-inspired burger was prepared and customers eagerly lined up to place their orders.

But when some people finally had the chance to try the meal, which included a cheeseburger, a side of fries and a “pineapple under the sea frosty,” they were deeply disappointed.

In a video that has over 2.4 million views, TikTok user Noah expressed his brutal opinion on the collaboration.

“We’re being completely scammed with this Krabby Meal shit,” Noah said.

Text appeared over the video saying, “Don't buy the Krabby Patty food, it's a scam.”

Noah initially directed his criticism at the Krabby Patty itself, saying it was just a “Dave's Double with some Big Mac sauce.”

According to Wendy's, there are a few differences between their SpongBob-style burger and a Dave's Double.

But the difficult distinction ultimately comes down to the number of cheese slices, the type of sauces used, and the amount of meat.

Noah was equally disappointed with “Pineapple Under the Sea Frosty.”

“This frost is terrible,” the TikToker said, stirring the drink’s viscous yellowish substance.

“Mine was incredibly watery and they just used vanilla ice cream and stuck some pineapple mixture on the bottom.”

According to Wendy's website, Noah wasn't far off the mark here. The Pineapple Under the Sea Frosty is actually made from the vanilla frosty and the pineapple mango flavored puree swirl.

The fast food restaurant called this combination “the first Frosty flavor innovation of its kind.”

Noah went on to throw away his food, telling viewers that “of course his fries were cold.”

“There's nothing cool in this meal.” “There's no special box,” he said, showing the camera the regular Wendy's bag.

“They’re extorting us out of $14 for this shit,” Noah said as he threw the food in the trash.

“Wendy, I’m disappointed,” he said at the end. “What the hell is that?”

In the comments section, viewers complained to each other about their disappointing experiences.

“They burned my shake,” one user said.

“I got a Krabby Patty meal for all four of my family members, so we're talking almost $50 for one meal,” another person wrote, before adding, “It was so disappointing.”

Other viewers defended Wendy's and attributed Noah's disappointing experience to the special place he visited.

“I guess it depends on where you go as far as the packaging because my brother just sent me a picture of the entire meal and it came in a fun box and cool packaging,” someone commented.

The collaboration between Wendy's and SpongeBob SquarePants was announced on October 2nd.

In its press release, the fast food company said, “In a world where people value thrift, Wendy's is known for quality in everything we do.”

“So it makes sense that two of pop culture’s most iconic places are joining forces to offer fans of all ages a taste of this unique, limited-time experience!”
