“As governor, Walz implemented his far-left agenda in Minnesota, with policies of softening crime, authoritarian COVID lockdowns and support for unlimited abortions. As vice president, he will expand his extremism beyond Minnesota as Kamala Harris's hardline wingman.”

“Vance absolutely nailed it tonight and secured a bright future in the Republican Party,” Terry Schilling, president of the American Principles Project, posted on X.

The Harris campaign released a statement following the debate expressing why they believe Walz, not Vance, had the strongest night.

“Governor Walz showed tonight exactly why Vice President Harris chose him: He is a leader who cares about the issues that matter most to the American people,” said Harris-Walz Chairwoman Jen O'Malley Dillon. campaign, in a statement. “In the debate, Americans saw a real contrast: a clear speaker focused on sharing real solutions and a glib politician who spent the night defending Donald Trump’s divisiveness and failures.”

“On every single issue – the economy, health care, foreign policy, reproductive freedom, gun violence – Governor Walz won. He spoke passionately about the Vice President's vision for a new path forward for the country. And this at the most critical moment.” Throughout the debate that took place in the final exchange, he stood up for our Constitution while JD Vance admitted that he had put Trump above the country.

O'Malley Dillon continued: “The choice facing the American people in November was made clear tonight: between a new path forward or a step backwards. Vice President Harris believes the American people deserve to see her and Trump on the debate stage. “Once again she will be in Atlanta on October 23rd – Donald Trump should face the voters.”

The Trump campaign said in a statement that Vance “clearly won today's debate in dominant fashion,” which was “the best debate performance of any vice presidential candidate in history.”

“Senator Vance told the truth, eloquently argued the case against Kamala Harris' failed record, and effectively held Gov. Tim Walz accountable for his lies on behalf of the Harris-Biden administration,” said Trump senior advisers Susie Wiles and Chris LaCivita. “Senator Vance also perfectly expressed Trump and Vance’s vision to make America safe again with their plan to launch the largest mass deportation operation in history; to make America strong again with a “peace through strength” foreign policy agenda; and make America rich again, cut taxes, unleash American energy dominance and end inflation.”

“Tonight, Senator Vance proved why President Trump chose him as his running mate. Together they form the strongest and most dynamic presidential candidate ever and will win on November 5th.”
