Clouds and rain from Helene's remnants will impact Metro Detroit through the weekend

Clouds and rain from Helene's remnants will impact Metro Detroit through the weekend

4Weather warning – After a dry end to the week, all eyes are on the tropics this morning as Hurricane Helene made landfall early Friday morning as a Category 4 hurricane with maximum sustained winds of 140 mph. We will keep an eye on this system as it will impact our forecast for the coming weekend.

FRIDAY: Mostly cloudy skies, still dry. High: 75.

FRIDAY NIGHT: Cloudy skies, rain showers developing. Low: 62.

SATURDAY: Cloudy skies, showers possible. High: 73.

SATURDAY EVENING: Cloudy skies, showers possible. Low: 63.

Some of Helene's cloud cover has already started to move into the region early this morning and this will keep skies mostly cloudy through the end of the week. High temperatures will be cooler, only reaching the mid 70s Friday afternoon.

There will be showers on Friday night and early Saturday morning. Some of Helene's moisture will begin to move into the Ohio Valley into southeastern Michigan. Overnight lows fell to the low 60s early Saturday morning.

We will keep active weather in the forecast as the remnants of Hurricane Helene move into the Ohio Valley. Cloud cover will remain and there is a chance of showers throughout the weekend. High temperatures will be in the low to mid 70s throughout the weekend.

We'll factor in the chance of showers in the forecast and look ahead to early next week, but I expect some sunshine to make its way into the region as well as another cold front moves into the region. High temperatures reaching the mid 70s early in the week will fall to the lower 70s by Tuesday.

Pressure on the forecast increases through the middle and end of next week, but brings with it some cooler changes. High temperatures will drop to the upper 60s by Wednesday and warm back to the upper 70s by Thursday.
