OSHKOSH (WLUK) — Former President Bill Clinton made a stop in Oshkosh on Thursday on behalf of the Harris-Walz campaign.

The 42nd president spoke to volunteers and encouraged early voting at the Winnebago County Democratic Party office.

“I’m begging you, Wisconsin. Go out there and give it everything you have,” Clinton said. “For your grandchildren and mine and for your children and for the United States, we desperately need you.”

Clinton touched on a number of topics in his speech, including inflation, health care and housing.

“There is a housing crisis in this country. The rent is too high and it’s impossible for young people to buy,” Clinton said.

He then drove to Milwaukee for a faith event at 4:30 p.m

WisGOP Chairman Brian Schimming released the following statement about Clinton's visit:

“In their latest attempt to convince voters that decency and character are on the ballot this November, Wisconsin Democrats are turning to Bill Clinton to make their case. Good luck with that.”

Clinton's visit to Wisconsin comes after both presidential candidates held rallies in Wisconsin.

Former President Donald Trump held a rally at the Resch Center in Ashwaubenon. Around the same time, Vice President Kamala Harris held a rally on the UW-Madison campus.

On Friday, both presidential candidates will return to the swing state of Wisconsin and the same city.

Trump and Harris will hold dueling rallies in Milwaukee, Trump at the Fiserv Forum.

Before Harris' rally Friday at the Wisconsin State Fair Park Exposition Center in Milwaukee, she will host an event in Outagamie County. Her campaign didn't give an exact location, but said it would take place in the “Appleton area” and gave a time frame of 3 to 7 p.m
