Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins is still adjusting to his new team but showed little uncertainty during his standout Week 9 performance against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The veteran spoke to reporters during his press conference after the game about his good working relationship with Patrick Mahomes.

“Much more pleasant. The coaches are preparing me extremely well,” said Hopkins. “It’s not just about Connor (Embree), it’s about everyone on the offensive side. Everyone is constantly testing me and asking me questions. You know, I’m just seeing how knowledgeable I am about the offense as we move forward.”

Mahomes and Hopkins met early and often on Monday, with the five-time All-Pro finishing with eight receptions for 86 yards and two touchdowns.

“Communication, conversations in our office, conversations in the locker room, just communicating every day, just the looks that we see,” Hopkins said. “And I just pick his (Mahomes) brain, ask him what he likes, and when I'm not out there doing the calling, I'm always learning and just seeing how he does things.”

The growing chemistry between Mahomes and Hopkins should grow with more practice time, as the duo will be back in action on Sunday against the Denver Broncos.
