Celtics injury report: 2 players listed for Hornets game on Friday

The Celtics remain at relatively full strength heading into the season. They are now looking to bounce back after losing their first game of the season in an overtime loss to the Pacers on Wednesday.

Next up for the C's is the Hornets, who meet in Charlotte. Game 1 is scheduled for Friday at 7 p.m., while Game 2 takes place on Saturday at 6 p.m., both against the same opponent. The Celtics have two players on the injury report for Friday's game: Sam Hauser (lower back) is probable, while Kristaps Porzingis (surgery rehab) remains out.

Hauser had missed three straight games before returning to the Pacers game. He played 14 minutes and had five points and two rebounds on 2-for-6 shooting. The back injury doesn't appear to be anything serious, although he has struggled with it in recent weeks.

The C's were lackluster against the Pacers, falling to a 24-point hole in the second half. But the Celtics improbably forced overtime and went on a tremendous run to end regulation time. However, they were unable to complete the win as they trailed 4-1 on the season. The Hornets come into the game with a 2-2 record under first-time coach Charles Lee, who spent last season in Boston as part of Joe Mazzulla's coaching staff.
