Buffalo Bills vs. Jacksonville Jaguars: Open thread on the first half

Buffalo Bills vs. Jacksonville Jaguars: Open thread on the first half

The Buffalo Bills host the Jacksonville Jaguars tonight in what will be a prime-time game for the second time in the history of these teams meeting. Sure, it's not the first time they've played each other in a time slot where a lot of eyes are on them – the Jaguars have beaten the Bills twice in playoff games and twice in London – but it's only the second time the two teams have played a night game.

The first time? Well, surprisingly, it happened on a Thursday night in 2001, when the Bills defeated the Jaguars 13-10 in a thrilling game. Rob Johnson threw a 27-yard touchdown pass to Eric Moulds, and kicker Jake Arians made two field goals as the Bills claimed one of their three wins that year.

Times have definitely changed, as the Buffalo Bills of 2024 are 2-0 and host a 0-2 Jacksonville club that is definitely better than its record suggests. Any team with Trevor Lawrence at the helm has a chance to win, and Lawrence was very good the last time Buffalo and Jacksonville met. For Buffalo, Josh Allen has a chance to win against Jacksonville for the first time since his rookie season, which was also the last time these two teams met in Orchard Park, NY.

Your first half game thread is here, friends. Please remember to be polite to each other. Switch comments to oldest to get the feel of a classic game thread. And, most importantly, enjoy the game wherever you're watching it.

Let's go, Bills!
