Bills trade blockbuster deal for Browns WR Amari Cooper

It's wide receiver trade day in the AFC East.

The Buffalo Bills have traded for Cleveland Browns wide receiver Amari Cooper, NFL Network Insiders Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero reported Tuesday.

Cleveland will receive 2025 third-round picks and 2026 seventh-round picks from the Bills in exchange for Cooper, according to Pelissero. According to Pelissero, Buffalo will also receive a 2025 sixth-round pick from the Browns as part of the deal. The Bills and Browns later confirmed the news.

“We appreciate Amari’s hard work, professionalism and on-field contributions during his two-plus seasons with us,” Browns general manager Andrew Berry said in a statement. “He created many memorable moments with us and was an integral part of our 2023 playoff team. We wish him all the best in Buffalo as he continues his NFL career.”

Pelissero added that $18.79 million of Cooper's $20 million base salary for the 2024 season was converted into a signing bonus back in March, making the deal more financially feasible for the Bills as they only paid $806,667 Cooper will be traded for the third time in his career.

The Cooper deal marks the second blockbuster trade of the day after the New York Jets acquired Las Vegas wide receiver Davante Adams to reunite the former All-Pro with Aaron Rodgers.

There will be more about the NFL soon.
