Big Ten in updated coaches poll, AP Top 25

The Big Ten was the focus of the college football world in Week 10, and the conference's biggest games didn't disappoint.

No. 4 Ohio State traveled to face No. 3 Penn State — a game that had significant implications for the national rankings and the College Football Playoff — and left hostile Beaver Stadium with a 20-13 victory. Ryan Day and the Buckeyes (7-1, 4-1 Big Ten) made up for their earlier season loss in a Top 5 matchup against then-No. 3Oregon.

Conversely, the loss extends Penn State's (7-1, 4-1 Big Ten) loss to Ohio State to eight straight and puts James Franklin's record against ranked teams back in the spotlight. However, the Nittany Lions' hopes of making the CFP have not completely disappeared in the 12-team era.

Behind big wins from Dillon Gabriel and Jordan James, Oregon (9-0, 6-0) defended its No. 1 spot in both polls by defeating Michigan (5-4, 3-3) by a score of 38-17 in The Big House . No. 13 Indiana (9-0) also kept its undefeated season alive with a win at Michigan State. Curt Cignetti's Hoosiers could be a top-10 team heading into next week's game against the Wolverines.
