Big Fidelity Funds Own Over 0 Million in OpenAI Stock: Filings

Several major Fidelity funds hold shares in OpenAI, with the mutual fund giant's total value valued at more than $100 million, according to filings Wednesday.

Fidelity participated in OpenAI's $6.6 billion funding round. The Blue Chip Growth Fund and Contrafund are involved.

According to Contrafund's monthly report, released on October 30 and containing financial information for the month of September, Fidelity valued these OpenAI shares at $74,801,903.

Blue Chip Growth Fund's filing valued this stake at $29,421,124; the Growth Discovery Fund valued this stake at $3,433,000; the Capital Appreciation Fund valued this share at $3,900,800; and the Stock Selector All Cap Fund valued that stake at $580,570.

According to the five documents, that totals more than $112 million. Fidelity has many other investment funds, some of which may also hold shares in OpenAI. Fidelity declined to comment.

It was not immediately clear how many OpenAI shares Fidelity owns in total. The fund manager lists the number of shares in each company in its annual and semi-annual reports. The latest report was published at the end of September and contains financial information up to the month of August, just before OpenAI's funding round.

OpenAI representatives did not respond to a request for comment.
