Bengals vs. Giants: 8 winners and 3 losers from Cincinnati win on Sunday Night Football

The Cincinnati Bengals went to New York Jersey with his back to the wall on Sunday Night Football to avoid a 1-5 start against the New York Giants. When the clock hit 12:00, Cincinnati walked away with a much-needed 17-7 victory.

For some it was a strong night, for others a bad night. Let's take a look at the winners and losers of this season-saving primetime victory.

Winner:

Joe Burrow: Burrow started the game hot… with his legs. On the Bengals' first drive, Burrow struggled until he saw a hole in the Giants' defense and launched a 47-yard touchdown run, the longest of his career. That was the catalyst for the offense, as Burrow finished the game with a stat line of 19 of 28 for 208 yards and no touchdowns. Every meter felt like pulling teeth as he was under pressure all night. Burrow was previously the Bengals' leading rusher with 57 rushing yards

Cam Taylor Britt: After a turbulent start to the season, Taylor-Britt had a very good evening on Sunday. Taylor-Britt started early with a great open-field tackle to bring down the Giants player on his first drive of the night and force a punt. Taylor-Britt was strong in coverage all night. “CTB” finished with seven solo tackles and was rewarded with pass defense.

Sam Hubbard: Hubbard appears to be getting back into form after a slow start to the season. Hubbard deflected a pass, showed the strong run defense we've come to expect from him and seemed more confident about the ankle on which he underwent offseason surgery. Hubbard finished the game with four tackles (one solo) and pass defense.

Germaine Pratt: Pratt caused the Bengals' only turnover of the night by hitting the Giants' Daniel Jones in the red zone. Jones was hit while throwing, causing the ball to fly into the air before falling into Pratt's arms. Pratt finished the game with seven tackles (five solo), one interception and another pass defended.

BJ Hill: Hill was the pressure that caused Pratt's interception. Playing against his old team, Hill made his presence known throughout the contest. Hill is the Bengals' primary run-stuffer, but was also able to put pressure on Jones a few times and force him to get rid of the ball early. Hill's final stat line included seven tackles (three solo), and he was credited with defending two passes.

Trey Hendrickson: As we've come to expect this season, the Bengals' only sacks came from Hendrickson. His two sacks were his only two tackles on the night, but he remains the only Bengal who can take the quarterback to the ground.

Tycen Anderson: Anderson has been great on special teams all season and shined again on Sunday night. On two straight punts, Anderson was in perfect position to hit the Giants' returner as soon as he caught the ball, resulting in him being unable to gain any yards back. Limiting the hard-fought distance was crucial for Cincinnati.

DJ Turner: While Turner had some tough moments tonight, including a questionable PI call that led to the Giants' only score, the second-year cornerback also made the game-winning play when he intercepted a pass on fourth down late in the final quarter , to maintain a 10-7 lead.

Loser:

Alex Cappa: Towards the end of the first half, the Bengals had the ball with a scoring opportunity. Until a stunt by the Giants defensive line left Cappa completely confused and a defender made a clean run to Burrow, sacked him and ultimately ended the drive.

Zack Moss: The Bengals defense forced a turnover on downs after the Giants attempted to get the ball at the New York 37-yard line on fourth down. Moss, in prime position to score and take a double-digit lead, fumbled and the Giants recovered.

Cordell Volson: On an overall difficult day for the offense, Volson made one of the biggest mistakes of the night. Chase Brown rushed for a touchdown run, but it was negated by a hold. After the 10-yard penalty, the Bengals settled for a field goal.
