Bankroll Freddie sentenced to prison on drug trafficking and firearms charges

Arkansas rapper Bankroll Freddie, also known as Freddie Gladney III, was sentenced to 12.5 years in prison on drug trafficking and firearms-related charges.

Gladney, who was found guilty earlier this year following a nationwide gun and drug raid in 2022, was arrested along with 34 members of the Every Body Killas (EBK) gang. His father, Freddie Gladney Jr., was also among the gang members arrested, THV11 reported.

Gladney III is found guilty of possession and distribution of marijuana, possession and distribution of a controlled substance, possession of firearms in furtherance of drug trafficking and using “a communication facility” to commit drug trafficking offenses. The ruling came from the U.S. District Court in the Eastern District of Arkansas. Officers also arrested members of the Loady Murder Mobb gang, saying the groups “voluntarily and deliberately conspired” to distribute drugs.

In addition to 12 years in prison, Gladney was ordered to serve three years of supervised release and pay a $242,000 fine, KARK reported.

Gladney got into trouble when he was pulled over for speeding in 2022. At that point, police ordered the rapper to get out of the car because they smelled marijuana. After searching the car, police said they found several firearms, including a privately made weapon known as a “ghost gun.” Officers added that they found a duffel bag containing 21.4 pounds of high-grade marijuana and $33,662, as well as seven ammunition magazines.

Judge James M. Moody Jr. said Gladney's sentence included an additional 2.5 years for possessing the ghost gun. The court also issued a four-level enhancement, equivalent to a higher felony level, after finding that Gladney was an organizer or leader of a criminal activity involving five or more participants.

The 30-year-old rapper signed with Quality Control in 2019 and released his debut album “ From trap to rapin 2020, according to Baller Alert. The album featured Moneybagg Yo, Young Dolph and Lil Baby. He also released his popular track “Pop It” with Megan Thee Stallion in 2021.
