Paris Saint-Germain's disappointing Champions League campaign continued on Wednesday as the team suffered a last-minute 2-1 home defeat to Atlético Madrid, sending the Ligue 1 leaders into the elimination zone.

Warren Zaire-Emery's opener was quickly canceled out by the visitors' Nahuel Molina in the first half, in a largely disappointing game that ended with Angel Correa scoring the winner three minutes into stoppage time.

With four points from as many games, PSG sits 25th in the 36-team league, while Atleti got out of the red zone with six points.

PSG next travel to Bayern Munich and RB Salzburg, while Atletico play Sparta Prague away and Slovan Bratislava at home.

Hakimi shot narrowly wide before Ousmane Dembélé's shot flew over the crossbar and PSG got off to a lively start.

PSG, which has struggled in the competition this season, got their first goal when Clément Lenglet was easily beaten in the penalty area by Dembele, who fed Zaire-Emery and his French teammate finished with a precise chip in the 14th minute.

That spurred Atleti into action and four minutes later Molina fired home a half-volley after poor defending by Nuno Mendes after Gianluigi Donnarumma had initially parried Giuliano Simeone.

Dembele was the main tormentor at the start of the second half, threatening the Atlético defense on several occasions, but it was Bradley Barcola who was in the best position to score, only to shoot straight at Jan Oblak.

Oblak saved another effort from Barcola in the 65th minute as PSG increased the pressure.

Ten minutes later, a Marquinhos header was saved and Oblak made another save to deny Hakimi from close range.

Luis Enrique had used Randal Kolo Muani and Lee Kang-in for PSG, but neither of them had a chance, highlighting PSG's obvious lack of an out-and-out striker as they have only scored three goals in four games in this competition.

However, Diego Simeone's changes bore fruit as Correa, a second-half substitute, held his nerve in the penalty area and fired the ball past Donnarumma at the end of a quick counter-attack just before the final whistle, sparking a barrage of boos and whistles from the side domestic audience.
