Arrests have been made in connection with the death of One Direction singer Liam Payne

Authorities announced that three people have been arrested and charged in connection with the death of former One Direction singer Liam Payne.

Liam Payne fell to his death from a balcony in Buenos Aires, according to Argentine prosecutors investigating the case.

The prosecution pointed out that Payne did not jump from the balcony on October 16th. Payne, who had cocaine in his system, was likely “not fully conscious or in a state of noticeable unconsciousness or unconsciousness” at the time of the fall.

The public prosecutor's office announced on Thursday that charges had been brought against three people for neglect of the person with subsequent killing and the provision and distribution of narcotics.

None of the suspects were named in the statement.

Andrés Madrea has claimed that someone who was with the 31-year-old on a daily basis while Payne was in Buenos Aires was accused of abandoning a person after death.

The other two defendants are accused of supplying the singer with drugs, including cocaine.

Payne was a popular member of the group, which formed in 2010 after its members – Payne, Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson and Zayn Malik – auditioned as solo acts for The X-Factor and were brought together by judge Simon Cowell . With their loyal fan base from “Directioners”, they became one of the most successful boy bands of all time.
