AJ Browns stars, Brandon Graham makes history, and 5 other takeaways

This was a win the Eagles needed, no matter how they got it. It wasn't always pretty, but it was hard-fought, tough and physical, and it felt really good to get to 3-2 with a 20-16 win over the Cleveland Browns on a beautiful Sunday at Lincoln Financial Field.

The offense started slowly and then picked up steam with some big, big plays, and the defense was rock solid throughout to get the win, and now the season is in full swing after the bye week.

Here are some observations from a day when the Eagles had to do everything they could to get to 3-2.

1. AJ Brown picked up where he left off

In the opening game against Green Bay, wide receiver AJ Brown was a big weapon as always with 5 receptions, 117 yards and a touchdown. And then he tore his Achilles tendon and missed three games. When he returned on Sunday, it didn't take long for him to make a difference. On the Eagles' first touchdown drive, Brown scored a 16-yard gain to tie up a second-and-11 situation, then fielded a Hurts pass to the left side to set up a third-and-7 play Cleveland 22 to convert. he goes up, up, up and over cornerback Martin Emerson Jr. and catches a touchdown pass with his left hand in spectacular fashion. Brown finished the game with six receptions for 116 yards, including the touchdown and a 40-yard catch just after the two-minute warning on a second-and-8 play that finally and confidently secured the Eagles victory.

“It felt really good to be back out there with my team and especially competing,” Brown said.
