Don't worry, the political ads are almost over as Election Day is fast approaching.

If you haven't voted early yet, here's what you need to know about voting in the November 5 election.

Am I registered as a voter?

Residents can check to see if they are registered to vote online at ova.elections.il.gov.

Can I still register for online voting?

No, online registration is closed.

Can I register at my polling station?

Yes, you can register at your polling place if you still need to register. Simply bring two pieces of ID with at least one showing your current Illinois address.

Where is my polling station?

You can find your polling place online at ova.elections.il.gov.

When can I vote?

You can cast your vote on November 5th between 6 a.m. and 7 p.m.

What do I need to bring with me?

If you are already a qualified, registered Sangamon County voter, all you need to do is bring yourself. Still, it's a good idea to have ID with you in case of a technical problem. At your polling station, you sign a ballot application that pollsters compare with your signature from your voter registration.

Is it too late to vote by post?

The deadline to request a mail-in ballot was October 31st. Once a voter receives their ballot in the mail, it must be postmarked or placed in a designated mailbox no later than November 5th.

If you received a mail-in ballot but decide to vote in person, you must bring the mail-in ballot to your polling place to drop it off so you can vote in person.
