Team India's star batsman Virat Kohli commands unparalleled respect from fans across the globe no matter where he travels. On the morning of the first day of play, the weather seemed to be a spoilsport as overnight rain delayed the start of the game. As the referees inspected the pitch and the delay continued, players from both sides eventually got out to warm up. Kohli, ever the professional, walked onto the field with a bat in his hand.

As he was walking out, a touching moment occurred when a member of the ground staff, who was initially busy removing the blanket, momentarily abandoned his duties to approach Kohli. In a heartwarming gesture, the staff member leaned down and touched Kohli's feet, a sign of deep respect in Indian culture.

Kohli, visibly moved by the moment, immediately tried to pull the man up and then placed his own hand on his chest, a gesture that symbolized respect and gratitude. Another ground crew member eventually led the man away.

Upon his arrival at Kanpur airport, Kohli was mobbed by several fans and even the hotel management couldn't resist taking a look at the legendary Indian batsman. One of the hotel officials tried to shake Kohli's hand; However, the Indian batsman had a bouquet of flowers in one hand and a bag in the other and was forced to refuse the request.

Virat Kohli's much-awaited return to Test cricket in the first match against Bangladesh in Chennai did not go as expected after almost a year's absence. Since he missed India's final home Test series against England due to personal reasons, special attention was paid to Kohli's performance. However, the star batter struggled to get into form, only managing 6 and 17 in his two innings.

His long-standing vulnerability to off-stump deliveries resurfaced and his challenges against spin further hampered his performance at the crease. The veteran Indian batsman will now look to make amends in the second and final Test of the series in Kanpur.
