Taylor Swift skips Travis Kelce's second straight Chiefs game

Taylor Swift skips Travis Kelce's second straight Chiefs game

She wasn't back in the stands.

Taylor Swift was notably absent when the Kansas City Chiefs took on the Los Angeles Chargers at SoFi Stadium on Sunday. The 34-year-old “You Belong With Me” singer also skipped the team's game against the Atlanta Falcons this past weekend.

The pop star's second consecutive no-show comes amid continued criticism of her boyfriend Travis Kelce's on-field performance this season.

However, Chiefs wide receivers Rashee Rice, JuJu Smith-Schuster and Mecole Hardman showed their solidarity before Sunday's game by wearing custom T-shirts with different images of the 34-year-old Kelce playing football.

Although Swift attended Kelce's first two games, she was not in the crowd for his win over Atlanta – in which he caught four balls for 30 yards.

The tight end's stats have been a big topic of conversation in recent weeks, with some analysts blaming his busy home life for his poor performance.

The three-time Super Bowl champion discussed his slow start to the season on Wednesday's episode of his “New Heights” podcast.

“We find ways to win games, but we’re not playing our best football,” Kelce, 34, admitted.

“Anyone can clean it up,” he added, noting he dropped a pass in a “pivotal” moment last weekend.

However, Kelce noted that he is doing his best to “help” the team in any way he can and that he is focused on getting better as the season progresses.

“I’ve made a lot of catches in this league, man. I’m not worried about the catches and the yards and all that,” he said.

“I enjoy it the most when the ball is thrown to me. Who doesn't have that? But it’s all about execution and making sure we do everything we can to win these football games… that will always be the goal.”

Despite the Chiefs' uncharacteristic struggles to start the season, they are still 3-0 – and hoping to continue their winning streak.
