Pete Alonso has plenty of other options if he doesn't return to the Mets

While the Mets ultimately make sense for Pete Alonso since he's a fan favorite, he had a big October and he's probably less than a season away from becoming the franchise's all-time leader in home runs, they seem more focused on superstar Juan Soto to focus moment, so here are some other options for Alonso.

1. Giants: They're always looking for more stars and haven't had the easiest time doing it.

2. Sailors: They could use the offense, but that's a difficult target, especially for a right-handed hitter. And there's little belief they'll spend much money this winter.

3. Astros: They seem to be focused on Alex Bregman at the moment, so they could be cheaper at 1B.

4. Blue Jay: They could move Vladimir Guerrero Jr. to third.

5. Red Sox: There are rumors about a possible move for Triston Casas, but that may not go beyond enthusiasm for the talented youngster.

6. Phillies: Although they could move Bryce Harper back to the outfield, that idea was called “unlikely” since Harper is outstanding to begin with and they would likely have to move Nick Castellanos or Kyle Schwarber, which seems very unlikely.

7. Oriole: They have a new owner who is expected to put in even more effort.

8. Diamondbacks: They would certainly like to keep Christian Walker, but Alonso could be a backup plan.
