Jimmy Kimmel appears to be holding back tears as he laments the “terrible” Trump victory

Late-night talk show host Jimmy Kimmel appeared to hold back tears Wednesday as he discussed President-elect Donald Trump's victory over Vice President Kamala Harris.

Kimmel opened the segment with a skit showing him packing up his office. Co-host Guillermo Rodriguez came in and asked if Kimmel was preparing for a vacation.

“No, I’m not going on vacation, I’m leaving the country,” Kimmel said.

“Why are you leaving the country?” Rodriguez asked.

“I can’t do this for another four years,” Kimmel replied. “Who knows what he’ll do?”

Kimmel added that he believes he is on Trump's alleged “enemies list.”

After cutting to a live studio recording, Kimmel told viewers that Election Day was the “worst Taco Tuesday of my entire life.”

“Those of you who hate this show right now and want to see me suffer will be happy to know that there was no joy in my life last night,” Kimmel said. “I was everywhere.”

He then walked viewers through the events following the election, including Vice President Kamala Harris' call to Trump to concede the election.

“She admitted and then explained what an admission meant,” Kimmel said of Harris. “Trump's like, 'That means you're stuck, right?'”

“Let's be honest, it was a terrible night last night,” Kimmel added. Then he paused as his voice fell silent. The audience responded with applause.

“It was a bad night for everyone who voted against him and it was also a bad night for everyone who voted for him. “You just don’t notice it yet,” Kimmel warned. “It was a really good night for Putin and for Polio and for lovable billionaires like Elon Musk and the brothers in Silicon Valley.”

He then appealed to Trump to let him “share a jail cell” with singer Taylor Swift “when the big talks about cracking down on the hosts begin.”

The late-night host made headlines in January after arguing with New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers. Rodgers had suspected, without evidence, that Kimmel's name would appear in documents naming nearly 200 associates of sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein.

“Dear Asshole: For the record, I have not met Epstein, flown with him, visited him, or had any contact with him, and you will not find my name on any 'list' other than the clearly false nonsense “This wimp made crazy people like you can't seem to tell the difference from reality,” Kimmel wrote.
