Bulldogs head to No. 1 class

Kirby Smart and Georgia added another key piece to their 2025 recruiting class on Wednesday with four-star wide receiver Milton (Ga.). CJ Wiley announces his commitment to the Bulldogs.

The All-American star was previously committed to Florida State until he backed out of that pledge last month and reopened his recruitment. This time, UGA and Texas A&M were considered the favorites.

But Smart and his staff came up with another prospect for Peach State.

“Georgia has a place for you here if you’re interested (was her message),” Wiley told DawgsHQ earlier this month. “Georgia can throw the ball downfield and they have a strong, powerful running game. I can play all receiver positions.”

Not only is Wiley's addition great because it gives the Bulldogs a dynamic playmaker, but Georgia now moves up to No. 3 in the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings. Exactly four weeks until National Signing Day, another top class is coming up.

Bulldogs make state goals a priority

Last cycle, Georgia signed just 9 in-state prospects in its entire 29-player class. They still finished in the best division in the country, but took a different approach in 2025.

With the addition of Wiley, they have now doubled the number of Peach State recruits in their class to 18 – accounting for nearly three-quarters of their current commitments.

He joins a group that includes Savannah Christian Prep Five-Star Plus+ defensive lineman Elijah GriffinWarner Robins five star EDGE Isaiah GibsonFive-star linebacker from Schley County Zayden Walkerand Camden County four-star tight end Elyss Williamsthe second-largest player at his position nationally.

Georgia now has commitments from four of the state's top seven prospects and six of the top 11. And one of their biggest targets still remains on the board, Manchester Five-Star Plus+ lineman Jupiter Terry.
