Gian Piero Gasperini expects a “totally different” Champions League test for Atalanta against VfB Stuttgart after “banging our heads against a wall” for 90 minutes against defensive Celtic Glasgow.

It starts at 8pm GMT at the MHPArena in Stuttgart.

You can follow all the build-up and action from this game and Inter-Arsenal in the live blog.

La Dea have won their last five Serie A games, including a spectacular 3-0 away win against leaders Napoli on Sunday.

However, in the European Cup they must rue the missed opportunities in the 0-0 draws against Arsenal and Celtic and have taken seven points from three rounds.

Gasperini brought in Mateo Retegui for Charles De Ketelaere and Raoul Bellanova in place of Matteo Ruggeri, the only changes from the team that beat Napoli.

“To replace two out of ten players is not a bit,” the coach told Sky Sport Italia.

“It’s a different game against a different opponent. We are away from home in an arena with great enthusiasm, so we have to be focused.”

Gasperini expects VfB to be offensive against Atalanta

VfB Stuttgart also stumbled with a loss to Real Madrid and a 1-1 draw with Sparta Prague, but then caused shockwaves with a 1-0 away win at Juventus on October 22nd.

“Stuttgart played against Real Madrid and Juventus. Considering they had more shots on goal than anyone else, that's saying something. I think it will be a very different approach to Celtic where we banged our heads against the wall for over 90 minutes. In this game both teams will try to win,” Gasperini added.

Atalanta has seven points from three rounds in this new Champions League format, which sees all results combined in one big table.

“The nice thing about the Champions League is that the table is starting to take shape, but the schedule is very complicated with eight different opponents, so we just have to take it one game at a time and see what happens.”

“It’s a big test for us to play in this situation.”
