Arkansas Basketball is officially scheduled to open the 2024-25 season as the Lipscomb Bisons take on the Razorbacks on Wednesday night at Bud Walton Arena in Fayetteville. The game is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. CT and will be streamed on SEC Network-Plus.

The matchup will be the Hoop Hogs' first regular season appearance under first-year head coach John Calipari. Arkansas has already appeared in preseason charity exhibition games against No. 1 Kansas (85-69 Arkansas win) and at TCU (66-65 TCU win) in recent weeks.

Arkansas and Lipscomb have not met in Fayetteville since Dec. 5, 2020, when the Bisons were defeated 86-50 by the Razorbacks under former head coach Eric Musselman. The Hogs are 3-0 all-time against Lipscomb, with the last meeting coming last season (69-66 win at Arkansas) and the first game occurring on December 20, 2004 (83-54 win at Arkansas).

Scouting Arkansas vs. Lipscomb: Stats, projected starters, more

The Bisons were picked by the league's coaches before the season to win the Atlantic Sun Conference. Sixth-year head coach Lennie Acuff has received high praise for the Arkansas coaching staff.

“Coach Acuff has done an incredible job at Lipscomb,” Arkansas assistant coach Chuck Martin said Wednesday. “We have a lot of respect for him and his program, and I think that’s the consensus across the country. When you play against Lipscomb, you know you’re playing against an efficient team, a team that’s not going to beat itself.”

“Incredible on offense. Their ball movements, their player movements, their execution, their counters. They do an incredible job of reading the defense and then countering it. And coach (Calipari) is right, much like the old Princeton offense. “They” “are as good as anyone in the country when it comes to running their offense.”
