Trump wins the 2024 election, defeating the candidacy of Biden and Harris

Donald Trump overcomes political obstacles to win his second term, including defeat in 2020, two impeachment trials, criminal convictions and assassination attempts.

Former President Donald Trump is returning to the White House.

The race was called for Trump on Wednesday morning after he found his way to 270 votes in the Electoral College and won many key swing states against Vice President Kamala Harris. Changes in voter loyalty and his messaging about rising costs and inflation helped him win.

Trump's victory comes after he was impeached twice, survived two assassination attempts and was convicted of 34 felonies.
