In videos and photos circulating online, the former first lady was seen smiling as she walked out with the Republican presidential candidate. She also appeared to have her huge dark sunglasses on at all times while campaigning in West Palm Beach, Florida on November 5th.

Curious observers raised the alarm and soon hectic suspicions gripped Internet users. Melania Trump ended up at the top of the microblogging platform's trends as she seemingly avoided media questions on the election site.

According to The Mirror US, she was once even asked if she voted for her husband. Although the former POTUS remained open-minded about the event and responded to reporters left and right, Melania merely smiled ambivalently and moved on, ignoring these comments.

Sardonic-comic nicknames such as “Fake Melania” and “Fauxlania” circulated online as many continued to bombard the SNS platform with comments suggesting that this woman could not have been the real woman.

“Um, that’s NOT Melania. Excuse me. I don't buy it. Whoever voted with Don today WAS NOT MELANIA. I guess the check bounced,” an alert internet user tweeted on X.

“The thing is, she doesn’t even look like Melania. The huge sunglasses are a clear sign,” wrote another. A third quipped: “I'm glad he brought back Fake Melania one last time for his series finale.” Many seemed unable to escape the image of an always radiant Melania walking alongside Donald Trump. “She's smiling, that's not Melania,” one X user joked.

Others took a close look at her “bone structure” and compared her November 5 performance to previous performances. “That’s fake Melania. Pictured is Melania at MSG compared to today. The bone structure isn’t even close,” someone pointed out online.

Another astute Twitterer wrote: “Melania has furrows running from her cheeks to under her chin. The other woman doesn't. Also note the camera’s blurry filter, which makes it difficult to see details.”

Meanwhile, several others satirically joked about how Trump “hired” the “wrong Melania,” as one said: “Donnie couldn't find Melania today, so he brought the wrong Melania.”

Yet another person commented: “The check didn't clear in time for the real Melania to show up so they had to get the lookalike from the bank.”

While Melania's appearance confused many, Donald Trump's interaction with reporters soon became the talk of the hour as he admitted to accepting the outcome of the presidential election, regardless of which way it went. “If I lose an election, if it's a fair election, I'll be the first to acknowledge that, and I think it's – well, so far I think it's been fair,” he said, according to The New York Times .
