Jill Stein, who previously ran for president in the 2012 and 2016 presidential elections, is on the ballot for the 2024 presidential election.

Political scientists and Democrats have argued that Stein's 2016 campaign was designed to steal votes from Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton.

Stein is a Green Party candidate. According to USA TODAY, the two-time Green Party candidate announced last year her intention to pursue an “economic bill of rights” for Americans that includes “the right to a job, health care, housing, food, education and more.” She also advocated for eliminating student and medical debt.

Why is stone controversial?

Stein was criticized by Democrats during the 2016 presidential election for allegedly siphoning crucial votes from Hillary Clinton in key swing states. She received about 1.4 million votes this year.
