Hackers are demanding that French manufacturer Schneider Electric pay a ransom of 5,000 in baguettes

Hungry hackers have demanded that French company Schneider Electric pay a ransom of $125,000 in baguettes. Bleeping Computer's report indicates that a hacking group may have stolen 40GB of data from the major French energy management and automation group after successfully breaking into the company's JIRA system.

Greppy is suspected to have (or had) ties to the Hellcat ransomware gang. The tweet above mocked Schneider for the supposed success of a recent cyberattack, and a follow-up post in the thread reveals a sample data block. However, more detailed details about the alleged nature and extent of data acquisition and demand for bakery products have been published on the dark web.
