Harris greets Pennsylvania family on porch and suggests they 'knock on the door'

Harris greets Pennsylvania family on porch and suggests they 'knock on the door'

Vice President Kamala Harris had a clear idea of where a family should stand when she spoke to them during a photo op in Pennsylvania.

Harris joined canvassers in Reading, Pennsylvania, as cameras filmed the Democratic presidential candidate walking toward the porch where a family was standing outside and saying, “Hello guys… sorry to bother you.”

A man shouts “Oh my God” as Harris, a woman and presumably their son, hugs him.

The man can be heard saying, “I didn't expect that…thought it was Shapiro,” referring to Democratic Gov. Josh Shapiro, who has campaigned alongside Harris in recent days.

“Well, I want to knock on the door,” Harris tells the family.

“Oh, do you want to knock on the door?” the man asks before Harris says “yes,” and everyone turns and walks back to the door as the photographers reposition themselves for the shot.

Video of the encounter was amplified by former President Trump's 2024 campaign on X.

“At Kamala's 'door knocking' in Pittsburgh, she met with supporters outside her home and then told them to go to the door so the press could capture the fake door knock,” Trump wrote War Room. “Humiliating!”

Both Trump and Harris visited Pennsylvania on Monday to deliver a final statement to voters in the key battleground state.

Trump began the day in North Carolina and ended it in Michigan, but in between he spoke in Reading and Pittsburgh. In Pittsburgh, Trump gave what his campaign aides described as his closing statement, telling his supporters: “Over the last four years, Americans have suffered one catastrophic failure, betrayal and humiliation after another.”

Pennsylvania has the most votes in the Electoral College of all the contested states, making it the main prize of the election campaign. A victory there would pave the way for both candidates to the White House.
