The Bryce Young trade highlights NFL trade deals we want to see

The NFL trade deadline is less than 24 hours away.

Several trades have already taken place. The three most notable trades include the New York Jets acquiring wide receiver Davante Adams, the defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs trading wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins and the Minnesota Vikings trading tackle Cam Robinson.

As the NFL trade deadline approaches, more trades are expected. Will other well-known players move?

Other names who may be in for a change of scenery include Browns rusher Za'Darius Smith, Jaguars running back Travis Etienne and Jets wideout Mike Williams. That could make for a very busy Tuesday.

USA TODAY Sports examines some deals we'd like to see for Tuesday's NFL trade deadline at 4 p.m.

Higgins to the Steelers t-shirt

The Steelers are looking for help at wide receiver before the trade deadline, a person familiar with the situation told USA TODAY Sports. They spoke on condition of anonymity because a deal has not yet been completed.

Higgins is a strong receiver, has a good catch radius and plays comfortably as an X or Z receiver.

Bengals director of player personnel Duke Tobin has previously said he's not concerned with making other teams better and that the Bengals certainly don't want to do business with a division rival. But Higgins would be a great fit in Pittsburgh's offensive system and would form a great pairing with George Pickens.

Higgins, who is on the one-year franchise tag, will likely play his final year in Cincinnati. The Bengals are at risk of losing Higgins for nothing during free agency, but they will likely hang on to the wideout for the rest of the season.

Anthony Richardson to the Rams

Did Richardson lose some of the locker room when he voluntarily withdrew from the game in Week 8? Richardson was traded in favor of 39-year-old QB Joe Flacco, raising questions about the young quarterback's future in Indy.

Indianapolis' handling of Richardson is confusing. The Colts drafted a raw quarterback with a plethora of potential No. 4 overall picks in the 2023 draft. They played him early and only allowed him 10 total starts before pulling the plug.

Sure, the Colts could go back to Richardson at some point. However, some fences need mending. A change of scenery could be best for both parties.

Rams coach Sean McVay has promoted every quarterback he has had the opportunity to coach. However, he has never had a quarterback with the same athletic ability as Richardson. Additionally, Matthew Stafford restructured his contract and gave up his guaranteed money in 2025. The Rams finally need to think about their quarterback of the future.

Bryce Young to the Raiders

Young started the last two games for the Panthers after sitting on the bench following the team's Week 2 loss, but only because veteran quarterback Andy Dalton sprained his right thumb in a car accident. Young has improved his decision-making and accuracy in his last two starts. His quarterback ratings in Week 8 (76.9) and Week 9 (77.6) were his best two of the year as a starter. Panthers coach Dave Canales even said Young played faster and more decisively.

However, Canales did not peg Young as the Week 10 starter.

The Panthers say they have a plan for Young. But perhaps their plan is to trade him and recoup some of the draft capital they lost to get him. Carolina lacks talent on both sides of the football. Without a good athletic team, it is difficult for a quarterback to be successful.

The Raiders have benched Gardner Minshew several times this year and aren't committed to Aidan O'Connell either. The Raiders could start fresh with Young at QB while also giving the second-year QB a fresh start. The young TE and rookie Brock Bowers are promising building blocks in the offense.

Travis Etienne Jr. to the Cowboys

Veteran running back Ezekiel Elliott was inactive in Week 9 for disciplinary reasons. Starting running back Rico Dowdle hasn't rushed for over 90 yards in a single game this season. The Cowboys have the worst rushing attack in the NFC.

The Cowboys offense has been one-dimensional this season. Things could get worse as quarterback Dak Prescott is expected to miss several weeks with a hamstring injury.

Dallas' season appears to be headed in the wrong direction, but they still need a running back for the present and future. Etienne can offer that. He has managed more than 1,400 yards from scrimmage in his first two seasons and is only 25 years old. His current contract runs until the 2025 season.

The Cowboys are missing RB Tony Pollard, who they released. Etienne could step in and fill the void at running back.

Greg Newsome to the commanders

Recent decisions suggest the Browns are sellers. Wide receiver Amari Cooper is gone and defensive end Za'Darius Smith is rumored to be transferring before Tuesday's deadline.

Teams are always interested in secondary help. The Commanders defense does not feature a shutdown corner. Newsome would easily be Washington's best cornerback when he arrives. His goal is a completion rate of 61%.

Rookie QB Jayden Daniels has helped revitalize the Commanders. ESPN reported that Washington has become a desirable destination for players. The Commanders have an excellent opportunity to build on what appears to be a legitimate playoff run.

Mike Williams to the Chargers

Williams was named the Jets' fourth receiving option and hasn't developed good chemistry with Aaron Rodgers. Even with WR Allen Lazard on injured reserve, Williams recorded just one catch for six yards in Week 9. He ranks fifth on the Jets in both catches (11) and receiving yards (160).

Several teams are interested in acquiring Williams, a person familiar with the situation told USA TODAY Sports. They spoke on condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the matter.

A reunion with the Chargers seems like a logical goal. The Chargers haven't filled their gap at X-receiver since letting Williams walk in the offseason.

Williams was one of Justin Herbert's favorite targets. He has a large catch radius and can catch 50-50 balls excellently. He recorded 309 catches, 4,806 receiving yards and 31 touchdowns in a Chargers uniform.
