One of the best messaging apps for Android is WhatsApp. And while it's been around for a while, it offers an excellent and secure chat experience, but is also great for keeping in touch via voice and video calls. With this in mind, signing up for the WhatsApp beta is the best way to experience new and upcoming features. However, if you're not ready to join the beta, the next best thing is to follow the news through Android Police. With that in mind, it looks like the beta will get a new feature that allows users to search Google for images shared in chat.

A quick and easy way to search images

The change was first reported by the folks at WABetaInfo, with the feature made available in beta version 2.24.23.13. Overall, this feature is pretty simple and offers a bit of convenience if you're the type of person who's particularly curious about images.

To access this feature in beta, users must first select a shared image and then click the three-dot menu in the top right corner to access it Search on the Internet Special feature. From here, users have the option to search for the image using Google.

In most cases, this is Google's image search, which is easily accessible within the app. How valuable this is really depends on the people involved and why this feature needs to be used. It's just an added convenience and there's nothing wrong with that.

However, it is currently only in beta, which means it may not make it to the public release. Of course, if you want to try it out for yourself, you can sign up for the beta at any time, provided there are still spots available. Or if you're already in the beta, just update to the latest version to see it's in the works.
