Suns vs. 76ers Prediction: Odds, expert picks, expected starting lineups, betting trends and stats

Suns vs. 76ers Prediction: Odds, expert picks, expected starting lineups, betting trends and stats

Two teams on different paths collide as the Phoenix Suns welcome the struggling Philadelphia 76ers to town.

Philadelphia is 1-4 this year, with two straight losses to Memphis (124-107) and Detroit (105-95). The 76ers are still without Joel Embiid, but could get Paul George's debut for this contest (questionable). As a result, the 76ers relied heavily on Tyrese Maxey. Maxey has led the team in four of five games (29.8 PPG) and ranks 11th in usage rating.

The Suns are 5-1 this season, with their only loss coming to the Lakers (123-116) in Game 2. Phoenix has rattled off four straight wins and held three of four opponents to 105 points or fewer. Devin Booker led the Suns in scoring 28 or more points in three straight games.

With that said, let's dive into the matchup and offer some information and maybe a sweat or two.

NBC Sports Bet Best Bet

Vaughn Dalzell (@VmoneySports) likes Bradley Beal playing below his PRA of 25.5 against the 76ers:

“Bradley Beal has come under pressure for the Suns, posting a 15-point, 7-rebound, 4-assist performance against Portland, while dealing with an elbow injury seems like a good time to leave him out.

Beal has posted 28, 25, 22 and 26 PRA in four games this season and is posting impressive splits of 47/40/72. However, only two points of his 17.3 PPG come from the free throw line and about 50% of his points come from three.

Both Tyus Jones and Devin Booker are primary and secondary when it comes to potential assists. Beal averages 6.8 assist chances per game and 6.5 rebound chances, so he's not losing much here either.

Despite Philly's poor defense, I think a mix of Paul George's debut/presence and Beal's elbowing will keep him under 25.5 PRA.”
