Stony Brook climbs to No. 17 in the Stats Perform Top 25 poll and No. 18 in the AFCA poll

STONY BROOK, N.Y. – Following its thrilling overtime victory over Bryant on Saturday, the Stony Brook football team secured a No. 17 spot in the FCS Stats Perform Top-25 poll and a No. 18 spot in the AFCA Coaches Top-25 poll, as both organizations posted today announced tomorrow.

Stony Brook's 17th place finish is the highest they have achieved in either poll since the team was ranked No. 17 on October 15, 2018. The Seawolves have received votes in the Stats Perform Top 25 poll for the last eight weeks and the last nine weeks from the AFCA organization.

In her last break, Stony Brook came through with a stop after Bryant's two-point conversion in the extra frame and secured the 31-30 victory on Saturday afternoon. The Seawolves improved to 7-2 on the year and 4-1 in Coastal Athletic Association play, while the Bulldogs fell to 2-7 and 0-5.

Stony Brook returns to Long Island this weekend where they host UAlbany for the Golden Apple. Kick-off is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. and can be streamed on FloFootball.
